Berry
Al Berry spent over
30 years in broadcasting in the Tampa Bay area, beginning with
WFLA, weekends, while at the University of Tampa. He started as
a DJ with WPLA 910am in Plant City. Went into sales, and then
co-ownership of the property. After selling WPLA in the early
90's he worked with the Plant City Chamber of Commerce for four
years, then took the position of Director of Marketing for the
Paso Fino Horse Association. Al is still active in broadcasting.
Not only does he have an active "Caller-On_Hold" telephone
business, he edits TV shows for the Paso Fino Horse Association
for RFD-TV that run on both Dish Network and DirecTV from his
studio at home .
A true legend, teamed
up with George Friend making WPLA a powerhouse in the 50s &
60s... Definite Tampa Bay Radio Hall of Fame.
