Caroline
Kennedy
Caroline started in radio at the age of 19
in Lafayette, LA while a student at the USL (University of Southwestern
Louisiana -- now University of Louisiana at Lafayette, ULL).
She
started out at KSMB as an over night jock and immediately earned
the permanent position of Afternoons on Sat. and Sun. After 4
yrs. At KSMB and college, was offered a morning show gig at KDEA,
Lafayette, LA. Her morning show co-host was Troy Leger who is
now at KSMB.
Leaving the morning show after 1 yr, Caroline
was hired on to do afternoon drive on the adult contemporary
station KTDY, also in Lafayette, LA. She did the afternoon drive
for almost
2 years and then left radio for a while. Opened an advertising
agency, CKMedia, and worked for herself. After a couple of months
got the radio bug again and was offered her own morning show
on
KQIS in Crowley, LA. Did morning there until she decided to pack
her bags and head for the sunshine state.
Caroline says "I
starting driving the program director of Star 95.7 crazy with
phone calls 2-3 times
a week. Finally, he offered me the overnight shift, but in a
part time capacity. I enjoyed working at Star very much, but
the hours
-- 12 mid to 6am were killing me so I resigned. Now I am in Houston,
thinking about getting back into radio part time." |
