Char moved to Tampa in 1978 from Chicago, Illinois. In 1988, she graduated from USF with a B.A. in Speech Communication and joined the WFLZ / WFLA staff just weeks before the birth of “The Power Pig.” Her tenure at the Gandy Boulevard complex lasted until 1994, with a brief return in 1996 at WDUV.
Since 2000, Char has put her radio days on hold. She and her husband Steve are raising two beautiful daughters. She’s working with her husband in his photography studio in Old Hyde Park.
