WTVT staff announcer, 1964-1968, later became NBC News Correspondent.

Killed on assignment in November of 1978 while covering Congressman Leo Ryan's trip to Guyana to investigate the activities of Rev. Jim Jones.

The next day 908 people, including Jones, poisoned themselves for having Harris and the others killed.
