Jack
Espinosa
To many, Jack Espinosa was the flamboyant PIO
for the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office. They are not aware
Jack Espinosa was one of the top comics in The US , the Caribbean
and South America in the 1940s and 50s.
Jack was born in Ybor City during the depression,
fourth son of immigrant cigar makers. Espinosa attended local
schools and graduated from the University of Tampa with a degree
in History, English and Education, working his way through college
as a top professional entertainer, appearing as a top headline
comic.
He has appeared in many USO shows for US servicemen
and women, and has many TV appearances to his credit. He received
“The Great American Award” from the USO in 1988.
In 1959 Jack retired from full time comedy
and began teaching school until 1966 when he accepted a position
as Assistant Director for The Neighborhood Service Centers. Jack
followed that with a stint as a Congressional lobbyist for the
Classroom Teachers Association which he helped found.
Jack retired from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s
Office in 1997 to start his own firm Golpes, Inc. Jack consults
police agencies all over the country on his expertise, public
relations and community relations. Espinosa is in high demand.
Jack has shied away from performing in recent
years, he is now concentrating on writing a book. Jack has a talent
for entertaining, and it has been transformed into his personal
writings.
Jack Espinosa has been a tremendous entertainer
for most of his life, he still entertains his friends on a daily
basis. “You don’t need a stage to make people laugh”
One of the funniest people God ever blessed
the earth with.
