Jim
Lord
Jim Lord, aka Jim Chaplin or Jim Lord Chaplin,
was midday DJ on WDAE in the mid-70's. He left in '76 to join
WIRA and WOVV in Fort Pierce, Florida as Program Director. He
subsequently worked his way up through the organization and became
the stations General Manager in 1981.
In '86 he left to buy his own station in the
same market which he sold two years later. In '89 Jim took his
family to Colorado where he managed stations for 9 years prior
to returning to his city-of-choice, Tampa. He now owns his own company in South Tampa,
Chaplin Marketing Company, which handles creative advertising
and marketing needs for his clients. Jim's specialty is creative
writing, producing radio & TV commercials as well as business
newsletters, brochures and press releases. Prior to his coming to Tampa in 1973, he played
Bozo the Clown on Toledo's WSPD-TV.
