RIP UDATE 12/31/2012

Format change in heaven as another top notch DJ is called home. Jon Rock & Roll Anthony, who made a name for himself as the high powered afternoon drive and night time DJ at Q105 and Z93 succumbed to cancer shortly after 10 PM Sunday night December 30th.

Jon had been fighting multiple yelomas for over 2 years, gave it one hell of an effort, but at the end his body was too weak to overcome.

Jon leaves behind his wife Belinda and son Ryan, and family in Alabama.

Jon Anthony was a ferocious Alabama Crimson Tide fan, and will now have the best seat in the house for the NCAA Championship Game. Jon has every Alabama game since his childhood days on video.

Anthony earned a reputation as a spit-fire DJ; his rapid delivery and impeccable timing set industry standards. You can go to the Radio Memorabilia section of teddwebb.com and find many photos of Jon with the top celebrities of the time, he knew them all.

Jon Anthony’s death comes one week after Rick Morgan’s passing. Both will be remembered for their contributions to Tampa Bay Radio history, may God rest their souls, and thank you guys for the many years of radio excellence.

You will never be forgotten . . .
