Phil
Bardi
Born in Brooklyn New
York, Phil was quickly ushered out to the relative calm and
safety of Long Island, where he stayed for 13 uneventful years,
happy and relatively oblivious. Things began to change after
his thirteenth year when he was abruptly uprooted by his family
and moved down to the sunshine and death metal capital of the
world, Tampa, Florida. Phil began his high school career at
the prestigious boys-only Jesuit High school. He and Jesuit
had a rocky relationship. Two years into the affair, Jesuit
decided it was going nowhere, and it needed to see other people.
Phil moved on to the comforts of the co-educational Tampa Catholic.
Here, he spent two years fostering a love for the media arts.
After graduation, he headed to the tourist captial of Orlando!
Here, he attended the University of Central Florida. Phil spent
three years at the University, but never found what he was
looking for. Halfway through his junior year, and much to the
dismay of his parents, he left UCF and wandered down the road
to Full Sail, a film and sound school that treated the craft
as an art. Full Sail was a perfect fit for Phil. Here, he managed
to learn about the wonderful world of Digital Audio Workstations
and the intricate art of getting up at three in the morning.
After film school,
Phil went to work as a digital video editor for a national
firm. Here, he spent his time editing commercials and honing
his radio commercial production skills. Unfortunately, having
to wear a suit and tie to work each day managed to outweigh
any joy Phil found in his job. He quickly moved on to browner
pastures, but more comfortable clothing. He spent the next
few years working as a Photographer, and then finally stumbled
into the world of commercial radio. Today, Phil can be found
producing the Star 95.7 morning show with Pyke. He can also
be heard on the Star overnights and on his own Saturday night
show from 8 to midnight.
When not in the studio,
Phil can be found at home, making art of garbage, writting
down non-sensical thoughts and listening to Phish.
March 2004 Update:
Phil is writing and looking for work, he was released by Clear
Channel when Star 95.7 switched formats and became The Beat. |
