Where Are They Now?

R.J. Reynolds

R.J. Reynolds first set foot in Tampa Bay in 1972, fresh from his stint at WPTH in Fort Wayne Indiana, where he worked with Mark Champion. He was hired at WDAE as an evening jock, later moving on to mornings.

It did not take long for R.J. to woo the audience into a big share of the market. Shortly thereafter, Program Director Ed Ripley felt he could find gold twice in those hills and brought Mark Champion into the fold. Two of the best hires he ever made.

R.J. Worked a staff featuring Mel Berman, Dan Grant, Bob McKay & Burl McCarty. Great days at WDAE, battling WLCY for the top numbers in town.

R.J. has worked at WOKY in Milwaukee, KSLQ in St Louis, KZLA in Los Angeles as well as local stations WFLA-FM, The Point 102.5, Coast 107.3 and Jo 101.5

His mellow voice is very distinguishable and has soothed audiences in the Bay area ever since.

A multi talented individual, R.J. has written a book, and several songs, in fact he has several Billboard magazine song writing awards to his credit.

He, his wife and daughter call Tampa home. If you would like to reach R.J., you can by emailing him at rjreynolds99@netscape.net
