Rick
Marron
Rick was one hilarious
individual, great sense of humor.
We first heard Rick when he team up with Ron
McGuire for the Marron & McGuire show on 970 WFLA in the early
80s. His style was laid back funny, he would crack you up in a
heart beat with his many voices and characters.
When the Marron & McGuire venture came
to an end in 1984, Rick stayed in Tampa Bay doing voice overs
and also TV commercials. His mainstay character was a Philip Marlow
type who would do spots for a myriad of clients. Great stuff,
Addy winner many times.
As many comics can relate, Rick was a lonely
man inside, fighting the demons of alcohol. He battled the bottle
until his final days in early 2000. His passing left a great void
in Tampa Bay media circles, we had not only lost a great talent,
but many of us loss a great friend.
