Scott
Painton A native of Connecticut, and attending Prep
School in NYC, Scott began his radio career in 1973 at WWBA in
Tampa while a student at USF. After graduation in 1974, he worked
as a Corrections Counselor for the State of Florida until 1979
when he found he loved radio far better than the government, and
went to work for WDAE, eventually landing the afternoon drive
position. In 1982, he met Yvonne Levin, who was Assistant
News Director. Scott left WDAE and Tampa in 1984 for Los Angeles
and the midday position at Transtar Radio Network. He and Yvonne
were married shortly after Scott's arrival in L.A. and they stayed
until 1987 when they returned "home" to Tampa. Scott worked mornings on WFLZ (then a "soft
a/c"), then left in 1989 for WWRM where he stayed until 1995.
He then worked with Yvonne building their audio production and
communications company, Max Communications, Inc. until it had
grown to the size that he could venture into other avenues of
the recording business. In 1997, he went to work at his current position
at Bisk Education as a Recording Director for audio and video
production. Scott still plays a very active role as Vice President
of Max Comm. and is a voice coach when not involved in a voiceover
project of his own. Scott's next adventure was convincing Yvonne
they needed to be "out in the country" where they and
their 8 feline children can play in their own compound... So off
they go from South Tampa to their very own massive hacienda. Land
spreadin' out so far and wide... (but he hasn't figured out yet
how to get Yvonne that pet giraffe she wants!).
