Nichols He was “Showtime”. Terry Nichols
loved the limelight. This World World 2 veteran had emceed many
shows in his career, he seemed to like that as much as he liked
doing his morning drive radio program. His real name was Bert Nickerson, he was the
Program Director at WYOU at the time of Larry Lane, and Bill Floyd.
Terry was also involved in the management of local bands, including
Harold White. Terry was into all levels of Country Music. Joyland
was one of his favorite after hours joints, as well as the Imperial
Ball Room, where would emcee many of the shows Doc Castellano
would promote. Terry was at WYOU until 1975, when he
was replaced by Al Dunnaway. |
