Tony
Zappone Tony began as a Tampa Tribune photographer,
later he became a reporter for them. He served his country in
the U.S. Navy stationed as a courier at the American Embassy in
London. A news correspondent for WFLA-TV & WTVT
(as a teen he worked with Arch Deal and later, Hugh Smith). Tony
was the first local newsperson to cover a national political convention,
first traffic reporter for WFLA-AM Radio (they played music in
the 70's), working with Jack Harris, Dean Drapin and Russ Offenbach. First network film to be aired of tornado damage
in Carrollwood on NBC's Huntley-Brinkley Report. Stringer/news
correspondent with Satellite Network News (SNN), purchased from
Westinghouse by CNN in 1984 and later did same for CNN. Now owns an advertising agency, producing radio
and television ad spots, and spends his remaining time in real
estate investing, management and business development. He spends most of his free time downloading
free music off the Internet. Tony is a lifelong resident of Tampa.
