Montana
In 1961, Lenny Montana came to the Tampa Bay
area wrestling under a hood, The Zebra Kid was an intimidating
fella, often pinning his opponents in under one minute.
Lenny Montana was born Lenny Passofaro in
Brooklyn New York in 1926. His classic battles with Eddie Graham
sold out Fort Homer Hesterly Armory many Tuesday nights in the
summer of 1961
Montana also wrestled under the names of Lenny
'Bull' Montana and "Chief Chickawicki" in the 1950s
and 1960s before turning to acting.
His most famous role came in the 1972 classic "The
Godfather", where Lenny portrayed Luca Brasi, a Don Corleone
associate who meets an untimely death.
Lenny passed away from a heart attack in May
of 1992 in Italy. |
