The Famunda All Stars is a group of Karaoke enthusiasts who meet every other Saturday night at 7:30PM and jam until the wee hours of Sunday morning. There are various locations, Tedd’s Place, The Rex Room, and Lawhorn’s.

The group consists of a very eclectic musical variety. Soul, Rock, Country, Latin, and more.

The group’s headliners are Melanie Rose, Frank Garcia, Joe Lala , Joe Fernandez, Sergio Rosello and Eric Holloway.

The group is supported by outstanding singers such as Steve & Kathy Tidler, Jim Holway, Nicole Valentin, Elaura Garcia, Gary & Steffi Kyle, Rolando “The Dirty Little Cuban”, Jerry Petuck, Bryan Wilson, Brian McGimsey, Daisy Ash,  Michael Dunn, Mama Tanya, Jan Stern, Eben Brown, Don & Billie Lawhorn, Sam & Dave, Yamel Arronte, & Tedd Webb, and visited often by Dennis Lee.

THE STORY

The group started after Kathy and Steve Tidler of Our Town Brandon Magazine visited Tedd Webb to do a story. “My one house rule is every visitor must sing at least one song on the karaoke machine” said Tedd. The Tidlers did, and when invited back to sing, they brought an old friend of Tedd’s from childhood days, Frank

Garcia, the noted paleontologist. Frank was an old hand at karaoke, having won numerous contests locally in the Tampa Bay area, and in Nebraska as well. The rest was magic. From a group of six members, it grew to 20 plus. The Sat nite shows have drawn as many as 80 guests.

SPECIAL GUESTS

The group is often visited by Joe Lala, founding member of Blues Image, and a storied career as a session man in Los Angeles, playing on records and touring with the likes of Stephen Stills, Rod Stewart, The Bee Gees, Crosby Stills and Nash, and may other top acts.

Lala is now an actor with credits that include Havana with Robert Redford, The Arturo Sandoval Story with Andy Garcia, and numerous TV and Soap Opera appearances. Joe conducts The Actors Workshop locally at the Italian Club and when his schedule allow, he headlines.

Dennis Lee, the star of The Dennis Lee Show, which tours America on the state fair circuit, is a familiar face at the show. He brings a wealth of energy to our Saturday nights.
