Kat Kollins

Kat came to Tampa in the winter of 2003 after fleeing the lake effect snow of Upstate New York. While freezing on the border of Canada between 1998 and 2002, she increased ratings to their highest level ever with her morning show on Adult Contemporary WTOJ, and was also Production Director. Additionally, she was the midday rocker on sister station WOTT, and Afternoon Drive Personality as well as Operations Manager on another sibling station, CHR power house WBDI/WBDR, simulcasting into Ontario, Canada. She also was spokesperson for many local businesses, and worked closely with the 10th Mountain Division Public Affairs Office.

Prior to life in the North Country, Kat was the night personality on Dothan, AL CHR WKMX where she took phones to the next level, and even prevented a teen suicide. She has worked in both radio and television, and has even been known to moonlight as an instructor at the Connecticut School of Broadcasting.

During the radio turmoil of 1996, Kat was Morning Drive Personality on Panama City Blues/Southern Rock/Americana 93.5 Bubba Radio, Midday Personality on AC sister station Sunny 98.5, and weekend/ fill in jock on Country 92.5 WPAP.

Between 1994 and 1995, Kat was on another continent as Weather Graphics Artist for Radio and Television of Luxemburg's Punkt- 7 morning news program. She also wrote, produced, shot, and directed programming for the German government's Parliamentary Patentshafts Program, sponsored by the Congress of the United States. Her career began in Newport News, VA in 1990 where she produced and eventually directed live television programming for a local public broadcasting station.

Since her arrival in the Sunshine State, Kat has been heard on Smooth Jazz, WSJT 94.1 and News Talk 1040's Morning Magazine with Mark Larsen, where she was Co-host and Mark's Director / Technical Producer. Between radio gigs, Kat was Public Relations Coordinator for the SPCA of Pinellas County, a Police Dispatcher for the City of Clearwater, and now enjoying her job for Brighthouse Networks as a dispatcher.
