Halladay
I was introduced to the Tampa Bay area (Big
57, WFSO ) audience by then 'morning man' Tedd Webb who said
something to the affect that "coming up next is the man
who sold Glen Turner (Dare to be great) his hair lip". Although
nervous and unsure of my reception, the phone immediately lit
up with positive comments and encouragement. I realized right
away if I was okay by Tedd, I was okay in Tampa Bay.
I later
worked at WSUN & WQYK. During the 80's and early 90's I broadcast
out of Lakeland, FL doing a 7 year stint as morning host at 97
country WPCV. Since 1996 I've been employed by the Orlando Police
Department. (WHAT!!!) I would've never thought it either, but
here I am. I enjoy my work and the people I work with. I recently
played a major role in organizing Orlando city employees with
the S.E.I.U.
I'm very happily married (3rd times a charm)
to a wonderful woman, I have a beautiful grand-daughter, and
a house FULL of dogs. Of course, as we all are, or at least should
be. I am a little older and a lot wiser. A couple of quotes which,
I believe, says it all:
"What a long strange trip it's
been"
Jerry
Garcia
"We'll never get out of here alive!"
