A.M. Tampa Bay (Monday -
Friday: 5am-9am) There is a reason why Alec Baldwin is so upset at George W. Bush winning the Presidential elections last year by such a close margin. Baldwin threatened to leave the country if Gore lost. He was adamant about it. Seems when Baldwin was known as Alex Baldwin, a student at George Washington University, he ran for the title of Student President. Baldwin lost by one vote, that's right one measly vote. He asked for a recount. The recount confirmed Baldwin the loser by once again, one vote. This defeat was too much for Baldwin, who left George Washington for the confines of New York University. He loses and leaves. He is a quitter. Baldwin was in Florida last week denying he ever promised to leave the country if Bush was elected. He said even of he did promise to leave, he would not have to because Bush was "selected" and not elected President. Amazing isn't it, six months after 911, one and half years after being in office, some still see "W" as an illegitimate Commander in Chief. According to poll numbers that were made privy to yesterday, seems Baldwin is in a very minute minority. George W. Bush is enjoying numbers unlike any before him. A vast majority of likely voters not only approve of him, but the job he is achieving, and his handling of the war. New York City was solidly behind Al Gore in November of 2000. Bush now has a 73% approval rating in the Big Apple. Wake up Alec, smell the coffee. America likes the choice it made in 2000. Everyday it is being proven as the absolute best choice. That's how I see it! |
