A.M. Tampa Bay (Monday -
Friday: 5am-9am) Let me preface this edition of Webb's World by stating I have backed George W. Bush since day one. I think "W" is a very good and honest man and would vote for him again today in a heartbeat. With that said, I am very disappointed in our President. "W" has to understand what Israel has gone through since May of 1948, she has been under siege ever since. There is not a day that goes by, not a minute nor an hour that some mother does not mourn the death of one of her children killed by a suicide bomber or a terrorist action. Israel can not continue to exist in that manner, nor should she be expected to. It is not George W. Bush who has to go to sleep at night wondering if his daughters will be the next target of a suicide bomber. It should not be George W. Bush telling Ariel Sharon to "pull out" of the Palestinian territories. Sharon has been there, he led the tanks into Lebanon when he was a General in the IDF; he knows what battlefields smell like. He knows what they look like. Sharon is a man on a mission to establish that Israel is here to stay. Until the Arab world can say that in unison, Sharon has the right, and the duty to continue his plunge into the Palestinian controlled territories. There has not been a single suicide bombing since the start of the militaryoffensive. Can anyone argue that point? George W. Bush may learn a thing or two about dealing with terrorist, and there is no better person to learn from than Ariel Sharon. That's how I see it! |
