A.M. Tampa Bay (Monday -
Friday: 5am-9am) The Eastern World, it is exploding', Violence flarin', bullets loadin'. You're old enough to kill, but not for votin', You don't believe in war -- but what's that gun you're totin'? An' even the Jordan river has bodies floatin'. Hard to believe those lyrics were written 37 years ago and performed by Barry McGuirie. The song was a protest song everyone could sing along to, it was commercial sounding, and a big success, the only solo success McGuire enjoyed. What I am trying to tell you is do not despair. The situation we are in is not new, every generation has faced this. Every generation has survived, we will too. This is an eye opener for us America, a wake up call that we are still not very well liked on the world stage. No secret, we never have been. Jealousy is a prime factor, we have too much, we
eat too much, we spend too much, it is just not fair in the eyes of
the world. Don't worry, there is nothing wrong with us being like we
are, and I guess it is only natural the rest of the world feels like
they do.
Screw em! That's how I see it! |
