Hollywood is ringing the bell again and
I have to laugh. Arianna Huffington, the former Mrs. Michael
Huffington, the former conservative Republican columnist who
hated Bill Clinton, and who is now buying commercial ads demonizing
SUVs.
Mrs. Huffington insinuates we are supporting
terrorists when we purchase those big gas-guzzlers. Then comes
liberal writer and TV tycoon Norman Lear, and movie star Gwyneth
Paltrow preaching the evils of the SUVs.
Richard Gephardt shows up at a rally denouncing
SUVs driving a Chevy Suburban, that is the Moolah Omar vehicle
of choice. Gephardt wants to be your next President.
Norman Lear does not own an SUV, he owns several
of them, and keeps them in a 21-car garage he owns. Gyneth Paltrow
drives a Mercedes, and a Mercedes SUV.
The point is “do as I say, not as I
do”. Hollywood is famous for that.
Barbara Streisand is busy asking you to hang
your undergarments on the clothes line instead of using a dryer,
to conserve energy of course. Babs has an apartment in New York
City she visits about 5 days per year. It is said her instructions
to the help is “keep it at 68 degrees everyday”.
That is saving energy.
I have had it with the Hollywood elite. They
feel what is good for them we are not worthy of. Vladimir Lennon
had it right when he referred to them as ‘useful idiots’.
