Lawyers have been complaining lately of being portrayed as greedy, money hungry root of all that is bad in America. And they are for the most part.

Lawyers are why you and I pay more for products, more for everything we use, because there is a fear of a lawsuit. Certain lawsuits. If an auto repair shops screws you, chances are they will get away with it because there isn’t enough money to get a lawyer interested in your case. The simple answer is “we don’t handle that kind of litigation”.

Lawyers are not the only scum of the earth, the insurance companies should share the spotlight. Insurance companies claim they are losing money because of lawyers, and they are. But…insurance companies are rat bastards too. I overheard a conversation between a Dr and the insurance company yesterday, the Doctor was angry because his patient needed a thermogesic patch for pain. The patient needed 2 patches per day, for one month. The insurance company agreed to pay for one patch, a patch that only works 12 hours.

Connie Mack, a Florida legislator is planning on an amendment to the constitution that would allow clients to get 70% of all lawsuit settlements, quite a bit more than they are getting today. Lawyers are seething, they want it all. If lawyers are really for their client’s pain and suffering, they would not be opposed to this plan. But they don’t care about their clients, they care about their cut.

That's how I see it!
