Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger is the new Governor of California, and he did it against some very large odds. Number One, California is a very strong Democrat state. Number Two, Arnold had to fight the forces of the media, particularly the Los Angeles Times, and the New York Times. The 2 newspapers ran scathing articles that were inaccurate, and incomplete and never ran a retraction .One would think Arnold was a Nazi sympathizer if you believed what was written. Far from the truth.

More women felt negative towards Lt Gov. Cruz Bustamante than towards Arnold? The articles detailing sexual harassment by 16 women, many unnamed, did little or no damage to the Arnold Express.

I guess Arnold owes a debt of gratitude to the women’s movement, for they turned their heads a few years ago when it was their favorite son, Bill Clinton who was accused of far worse acts against women. It did not take long for the shoe to be on another foot, and they now pay the price for being silent during Bill’s tribulations.

Not that Arnold is a conservative, far from it, BUT he is a Republican. To see him claim the Governor’s mansion last night sent shock waves around a country where the four largest states, California, Florida, Texas and New York, are going to be run by Republicans.

That's how I see it!
