Sucker punch from the left, and Joe Lieberman is reeling. Al Gore endorses Howard
Dean for the Democratic nomination for President in 2004. Did he see it
coming? Joe says no, it caught him as well as everybody else off guard.
How could Al Gore back stab his running mate from 2000? It appears there
is a power struggle in the Democratic Party between the Hillary-Bill faction
and the new left led by Howard Dean.
There is an awful lot of speculation, is this an attempt to foil a Hillary draft
at the convention? Does Al Want to be VP again?
Politics is a dirty business, it's a lot like playing Risk, the war game many
of us played as youngsters. You make deals and bonds only to break them when
it best serves your needs or wants.
I feel sorry for Joe Lieberman, he was a very decent man who towed the party
line in 2000, he went against his own beliefs for the good of the party and the
ticket, and now this. It is a determining factor ion the 2004 race, obviously
those would have been loyal to the Gore-Lieberman ticket now have a reason to
back someone else, namely Dean.
Where does this leave Hilary? Would she accept a spot on the Dean ticket? I
doubt it, last thing she wants is wait another 8 years for her turn.
Hilary may be voting Bush in 2004.
That's how I see it!
