I do not understand the Democratic Party and it's efforts to
destroy Howard Dean as a viable candidate. Seems the
party doesn't want to win the 2004 presidential sweepstakes.
There is some speculation the Clinton wing of the party wants
to keep the door open for Hillary in 2008, and if Dean wins in
2004 that would end that dream.
Howard Dean is doing it, he has captured the hearts of the party's
left wing and has energized a fund raising machine that is without
parallel in the party. The party is a bit scared of what a Dean
candidacy could mean.
Not all Democrats are trying to preserve Hillary's run in 2008,
some are scared of Dean, thinking he could be the McGovern of
the 2000's. George McGovern took the Democrats way to the
left in 1972 resulting in a huge landslide for Nixon, and setbacks
the party had a hard time overcoming for years.
Democrats should watch what they say about Dean, for those may
be bitter words to swallow when they are asked to endorse his
run in November.
That's How I see it!
