Ahh the networks apologizing again, this time ABC for their introduction piece to Monday Night Football. It featured Philadelphia eagles wide receiver Terrell Owens, and Nicollete Sheridan from the hit sitcom “Desperate Housewives”
The bit was to introduce MNF fans to the most talked about new show on TV. The plot went a little too far. Sheridan approaches Owens in the locker room, wearing nothing but a towel, and pleas with him to miss the game. She then drops the towel, it shows the expression on Owens face, and he agrees to be late for the game.
For adults, this was no big deal, it was even funny. For youngsters staying up to watch a football game, it may have been just a tad under Janet Jackson’s bit at the Super Bowl.
For ABC, a win-win situation. The apology costs them nothing, the exposure from the bit, including our rant this morning… priceless!
