Heard Wednesday mornings at 6:40 AM on Newsradio 970 WFLA Tampa, Florida. Also available on www.glennbeck.com, and 441 Clear  Channel station web pages across America.

The song is 41 years old, and it still holds up today. Barry McGuire’s Eve of Destruction.

The eastern world, it is explodin’
Violence flarin’, bullets loadin’
You’re old enough to kill, but not for votin’
You don’t believe in war, but what’s that gun you’re totin’
And even the Jordan River has bodies floatin’

But you tell me
Over and over and over again, my friend
Ah, you don’t believe
We’re on the eve
of destruction.
Who would have thought back in 1965, we would be in a battle to save our culture in 2006?
Things have changed drastically since the protest songs of the 60s and 70s, but this one still connects.
I guess they had obstructionist back in the 60s, I do not remember, but the lyrics sure do reflect it.
I can’t twist  the truth, it knows no regulation
Handful of senators don’t pass legislation

As different as things are today, there are still some constants we can count on.

That’s how I see it!

    Praise God (Laus Deo),
