Some one needs to tell Katherine Harris that it’s over, she stands as much a chance of being elected Senator from Florida as Osama bin Laden.
Harris trails incumbent Bill Nelson the Democrat by 30 points. That is hardly a margin one can expect to overcome. It is obvious to those watching this debacle that it will not work for Katherine.
Harris did well in her bid for Congress because she was running on friendly grounds, Sarasota, Bradenton. This senatorial bid is statewide, no can do. There are too many pockets of folks still angry at her for her performance during the 2000 elections. She did the right thing mind you, but was ridiculed on Saturday Night live and other programs with a liberal bent.
This past Week Governor Jeb Bush stepped to the plate and said what everyone has been thinking; “give it up”! Bush is trying to convince Harris of the obvious, “You can not win this race”.
Katherine Harris is pouring her inheritance money into this campaign, and it is so sad. She can not see the forest for the trees. It’s over Katherine, please step aside and let another candidate step to the plate, one who may have a chance at making Florida Senators from the same party.
