Mark Foley was a nice guy on the surface, a good friend to conservative causes, but there was a double life. The Man who was appalled at a nudist colony having a summer camp for kids, was himself looking to bed young men in their mid teens.
The Florida Congressman could have stayed in office as long as he desired, very bright, very smooth and a good politicians, but Mark Foley was addicted to sex with young boys.
The emails and instant messages he sent various pages shows a pattern of a chicken hawk, a guy who preys on young boys. Foley now claims a sexual abuse of himself by a priest many years ago, just for good measure he throw in he is an alcoholic. America is not buying it. He had to step down.
He is not the first Congressman accused of having turned the pages. Others in the past have opted to either resign like Foley, or face the music and hang in there. One even served an additional 10 years after being called out.
Politicians should be watched carefully. Some times though protests too loudly. In the case of Mark Foley showing an interest in protecting little kids from predators, we should be ashamed at the deception. If any knew about this and did nothing, they too should face the same fate.
