Hi Teddy,
Steve here in Auckland, New Zealand. If your ever in the neighborhood,
please drop in. It'd be nice to have a part of Tampa come to New
Zealand. Since I arrived in March 20002, when people ask where I'm
from I say "Tampa", they ask where Tampa is and I tell
them "It's in Florida". "Ohhh" they reply, "you
mean Miami?" I tell'em, "Sure...Miami! (Groan)
Anyway the radio scene here isn't quite like back home although I give'em
credit for trying. A bit of their humor is ordered from the States,
such as Rick Dees joke CDs and such. Their own brand of humor isn't
something that I find all that funny. However, the landscape here is
simply awesome! Valleys and mountains as green as a newly polished
emerald, beautiful blue and green rivers and waterfalls, the majestic
(and huge)Southern Alps that you saw in "The Lord of The Rings" trilogy.
The good thing is that, due to the rate of U.S. to NZ dollars.....everything
paid for in U.S. Dollars (exchanged) is roughly half price. When I
arrived almost 1 year ago the U.S. Dollar bought 3 times as much!....and
will again, as soon as America recovers from economic fallout.
Give a hearty hello to Jack Harris, Sharon Taylor, Glen Beck, Phil
Hendrie, Captain Mel and of course Mark Biero (Ring Announcer Extraordinaire)
and all the listeners back home for me....including the World Champion
Tampa Bay Buccaneers!
Special Note: Let's get Tampa Jai-Alai back! I'll take over Mark's
old job there since he's gone on to fame and fortune.....

Dear Teddy,
Hey, I feel priviledged that I was the first post & it's still
on the board... You ALWAYS know how to make a person feel warm & fuzzy
inside Tedd!!! :^) !!!
Just wanted to check in to tell you that Big D and I are doing great,
and I love how your site has progressed!!! Thank you also for the link
to my site...
Here's a note to the public:
Tedd Webb whom I know personally, along with his lovely wife Trudy & his
kids, is an awesome man and WHY he doesn't have his own national show
yet is beyond me???!!! Hey Tampa Bay, now that our very own Bucs have
the Lombardi trophy right where it belongs, don't you think we should
protest to get Tedd his own national radio show?
Tedd, you're the man!!!
Love to you, Trudy, & the kids,
Kat
:^)

A great night for Tampa Bay as the Buccaneers win the world championship
of professional football. Congrats to John Gruden, the team, and
to all the fans where I lived for 17 years. You deserve it. And just
great to see our All-American, Dwight Smith from the Akron Zips,
take it to the dance twice for the Bucs. Bucs!! World Champs!!

Dear Tedd,
We just spent the last hour really enjoying the "Where are they
now" section of your wonderful Webbsite. Man, what incredible
memories..and how lucky we were to know all the marvelous people who
came from, and through the Tampa Bay area. By the way, did I miss Dan
Johnson in the listings, we both worked for him at WFSO and he certainly
was a driving force in the Bay Area broadcast history. Meanwhile, 'Love
you man, thanks for doing this Webbsite, it's like a trip home. Please
give my best regards to all. Ever your own, Chuck Borris, Post Falls,

Just amazing how much great talent came from "out of the Bay!" Here
in West Palm Beach, I was able to listen to Stan Major both when he
worked in Miami and while on the old Independent Broadcasters Network
(which was NOT on 500 stations as stated... more like 75... I was on
IBN as well). I grew up on Mel Phillips' WRKO in Boston (http://wrko.org)
from where John Rode was one of its first jocks. Wayne Farris was a
great TV news anchor in Miami whom I had the privilege of watching
back when.. and of course, there's Bill "Wild Willy" Hennes....
who defies description. That man created great Top 40 stations in the
seventies, that in turn spurned great personalities.
Tampa Bay Radio was and remains a great place to tune to. I certainly
appreciate your keeping tabs on it!
We get to hear Todd Schnitt here on WIOD, coutesy of Monopoly Channel.....
he also is one of the very finest from WFLA!

In 1970 I left Richmond, Virginia to take a job here with WLCY-TV as
an assistant director. Dick Crippen, Art Johnson, Marshall Cleaver,
Karol Kelly and Sonny Daye were my co-workers every night on the
news. It was great to see Dick Crippen on your site and he brought
back memories of those days. Thanks Tedd. Happy Holidays to you and
all the broadcast professionals around the Bay area. I'm still in
the business programming one of the many networks that operate out
of Tampa bay.

Have you noticed how all the companies caught in the current rash of
accounting scandals are part of the "service economy"?
They produce nothing - Enron never produced a kilowatt of power,
they just traded it around. Worldcom sold time on other company's
communications systems--- Could it be that there isn't any real wealth
being produced here? That these companies are as empty as a dot com
selling advertising on its website?

Ted-da-da, I just gotta say this is one of the best & most easily

takes me down memory lane.
I am glad, however, that you removed that photo of you in the Speedo

accepts it everyday for example, when a child who is being abused in

according to recent alligations the state may not be much better, Our
families need tradition and values but so does our government. Our
children need protection from whoever it may be. They are the innocents

Ted, What an great web site. I am enjoying it and telling all my friends.
I have listen to WFLA since 1984, and it is the greatest. I also
get up at 2:30 AM to go to work. I really enjoy listening to you
and Jack and Sharon. It makes my day. One thing that I enjoy the
most though, is you Ted, you tell it like it is. Keep up the great
work. GOD BLESS & GOOD HEALTH!

Hi Coni,
Mark is my 2nd cousin, and not related to the Valencia Garden Manuel
Beiro, though Mark's first name is Manuel.
By the way, Shock Armstrong (Paul Reynolds), Manuel himself, Andy
Hardy, David Agliano (Manuel's grand son) and myself are the only ones
to ever do TV commercials for Valencia Garden.

this isn't on topic, just a few wonderings.
is your cousin/hero Mark Berio related to the last owners of the valencia
gardens? i know it makes me late to the party(not that i haven't lived
here since "61" and don't remember "shock armstrong"),just
not sure. also does he do his own writing of the description of the
players in "battle bots"? you and jack do real well in the
morning. great show with or without the estrogen. thank you!

Love the new website. With the elections just around the corner, can
you give us some tips who to vote for? I am new to the Tampa area and
do not know a lot about the local deal.
Thanks,

Hey Gang,
Thanks for the kind words of praise on the web page. I tip my hat
to our incredible webmaster, Bob Lavine from Premier. they are top
of the line in every respect.
Thanks to everyone who sent emails concerning Scott Robbins. His memorial
service Monday night was standing room only, a tribute to what a class
guy Scotty was.
Thanks

Well, Tedd, I'm glad to see you finally have a web site. Now that I
know, I'll probably be back regularly to pick up the "Webb's
World" stuff that I can't get on the radio out here in the high
deserts of the Rocky Mountains of Utah. Your pungent commentaries
are one of the FEW things I miss from Tampa.
All the best.

Dude!
What a kick ass Webb site!
I used to work there in Tampa Bay at WWRM, and listened to you and
Jack regularly. You guys have one of the finest morning shows in the
country. More young radio guys need to listen to guys like you and
Jack and learn the lost art of broadcasting.
Your "Where Are They Now" page is really informative. I
remember coming across aircheck of Scott Painton when I was at Warm
94.9 and wondering if that was the same guy I used to listen to on
Transtar as a kid. What a smooth announcer!
Also the Scott Robbins tribute was great. What a great picture of
a great guy. It isad to know that he went like he did. I'm still very
bummed about that news. He was also someone young jocks could learn
a lot from.
Whatever happened to Cynthia Clarc from 102.5? She was terrific too.
I met her right before I left and we had consolidated with the old
Clear Channel stations. What a mess that was. Oi vey. Nice to see Carson
Cooper on there, he is also an incredibly nice guy.
Peace,
Jack Shell

Tedd, Ya'll are the greatest. I have been around the world and back
and have listened to a lot of radio and ya'll are by far the most
well rounded group, menage' a twa, that I have ever had the privelege
to hear over the airwaves. What a great addition Sharon was when
you had your hiatus in the Fall a few years back. By the way, Jack
makes up some of those words he uses. Great job Man, Please retire
at this show, meaning, don't ya'll ever give up the time slot. Walter
Cronkite should have been so fortunate.
